The Air Force Museum Society is a group of Albertans who seek to explore and venerate the history of Canada's Air Force and its role in Canada and the world. The society is dedicated to developing a museum through which will trace the evolution of Canada's Air Force from its beginning to the present.

Spitfire Flown by 403 (City of Calgary) Squadron

From The Airmans' Grace

Lord of thunderhead and sky
Who placed in man the will to fly
Who taught his hand speed, skill and grace,
To soar beyond man's dwelling place.

You shared with him the eagle's view
The right to fly as eagles do,
The right to call the clouds his home,
And grateful, through your heavens roam.

At the soon to be expanded site of the Museum of the Regiments, the three services of the Canadian Armed Forces will display their unique and individual stories.

The recently formed Air Force Museum Society of Alberta will spearhead the collection of material and memorabilia that will become the Air Force Museum.

Goals of the Air Force Museum Society

The Air Force Museum Society of Alberta as a registered charitable society will collect and restore material and memorabilia to establish and maintain a collection of artifacts that will honor the past record of the Canadian Air Force.

  • Preserve the history of the Canadian Air Force at war and peace through the collection of artifacts and the written accounts of those who served.

  • Provide a focus for the remembrance of those who have given the final sacrifice for Canada through the recognition and commemoration of significant dates in air force history.

  • Maintain an account of those distinguished air force personnel who have gallantly served their country in times of peace of war.

  • Uphold the customs and traditions of Canada's air force.

  • Maintain the history of and provide support to the Royal Canadian Air Cadet League of Canada.

  • Be open to all serving and past members of the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Canadian Air Force and their families.

  • Be open to members of the general public who have the desire to participate in the preservation of Canadian Air Force History for those who follow.

The Air Force Museum of Alberta welcomes volunteers whether you have an air force back ground or you are just interested in air force history. Guides, receptionists and special event coordinators are needed to help us perpetuate the history of the air force through the schools, group tours and the general public.
